Halloween Recipe Round-up

In Uncategorized by BernieLeave a Comment

Feeling spooky or not Halloween is almost here! Don’t get caught off guard without some good healthy recipes to fall back on if you are hosting a party or attending one. Halloween candy is colorful and all too easy to overeat. Also- there really isn’t anything special about it, sorry to break it to you. Here is a round up of some of my favorite recipes from across the spectrum: sweet, salty and booze! These will help you enjoy the holiday without waking up with a sugar hangover the next day (I cannot guarantee you won’t have a normal one though). Not to mention homemade food always tops store bought in my book.

Here is a list I’ve compiled of some of my recipes as well as some I’ve seen from my favorite bloggers. With all the great recipes out there, there’s no reason to stress!

BOOOOOOZE:

I’ve only tried one of these, but I’ve had my eye on all of them on my long running “to-make” list…

  • Pumpkin Spice Punch – I’ve made this punch at our Halloween party the last two years and everyone LOVES it. If you want to sub out something for the bourbon, I would recommend dark spiced rum or even vodka. Most of the flavor comes from the apple cider! Make sure you have a ride home if you’re indulging in this because it can sneak up on you. Mix the punch the night before so that the fruit can soak up some good flavor and serve in a pumpkin!
  • Vampire Bite Shots – new recipe from my friend Meghan over at Cake’n’knife that will definitely get you in the spirit.
  • Boozy Bourbon Pumpkin Pie Shake – for a little sweet with your buzz
  • Caramel Apple Cocktail – I have a serious weakness for sweet flavored vodkas…

I hope everyone has a sweet and spooky Halloween!
